About the Elopement Legend Awards

The Elopement Legend Awards is a photography competition exclusively for elopement photographers. We celebrate the authenticity of real elopements by awarding candid images that highlight the skill of photographers across the globe.

There are 3 Types of Legend Awards

The Legend Award
for candid & emotive storytelling moments at elopements with 15 or fewer guests
The Adventure Award
for action shots and unique experiences at elopements & microweddings with up to 25 guests
The Atlas Award
for cinematic, epic and creative masterpieces at elopements & microweddings with up to 25 guests

Who this is for

Elopement photographers worldwide — whether you shoot mountaintop heli-weddings, courthouse ceremonies, or week-long adventure elopements.

Couples planning their elopement can browse our awards and directory to find photographers whose work stands out. Photographers in our directory are displayed by the number of awards they’ve won - not by how much they’ve paid to be listed.

How judging works

Each round is judged by an elopement photographer who understands the heart and soul of elopements. Meet our judges on the judges page.

When a round closes, all photos are anonymized and randomized before the judge selects the top 7% of images that most strongly fit the category. Judges can leave feedback for you, or you can opt-out. After judging, our admin team publishes Legend Award winners to the public awards pages.

Submit up to 5 images per round
Photos can be from any year
No watermarks, logos, or identifying text in frames
Create a draft entry and edit it anytime before the deadline
Winners get the award badge and press kit & get published here with the photographer’s name, business name, location, and backlink to their site

Inclusivity is a core value

All eloping couples are accepted: LGBTQIA and polyamorous unities, people of every size, religion, ethnicity, ability or disability, and those who don’t conform to tradition or expectations are not just ok, but celebrated here.

Membership & entry

You can submit up to 5 images once per round for $19, or join our annual Legends Membership to submit to every round for free. Legend Members also get an editable profile in our photographers directory and additional guaranteed publishing opportunities.
